Terms of Service

1. Who you are dealing with

Claryfied is operated by Nela Kosigi Pranesh, an individual based in India. In these Terms, "we", "us" and "Claryfied" mean that individual; "you" means the person who holds the account, and — where the account holder is a student under 18 — the parent or guardian who consented to it.

2. Who may use Claryfied

Claryfied is built for students, and many of them are old enough to be here on their own but not old enough to be adults. So the rules about who can hold an account are stricter than on an ordinary website, and we check rather than assume.

We ask for a date of birth when an account is created. We use it for one thing — checking you are old enough — and we keep only that the check was passed, not the date of birth itself.

• You must be at least 13. Claryfied is not for children under 13, and signup refuses anyone who tells us they are younger. If you believe an account has been created for a child under 13, tell us at privacy@claryfied.com and we will close it and delete everything on it.
• 13 to 17. You need your parent or guardian's permission before using Claryfied, and by using it you confirm you have it. This is not a formality — in many places the law treats a person under 18 as a child who cannot agree to a service like this on their own. In practice a parent or guardian is already involved: creating an account is free, but generating lessons requires a paid subscription, so the adult who pays for it is in the loop before any lesson is made.
• 18 and over. You can create and use an account yourself, and you are responsible for it.
• Schools, tutors and organisations. If you want to provide Claryfied to students in your care, that runs on a separate written agreement rather than these Terms. Write to us.

A parent or guardian whose child uses Claryfied under these Terms is responsible for that use and for anything payable on the account, and can ask us to close it at any time — see the Privacy Policy for how.

3. Your account

Give us accurate information when you sign up, and keep your password to yourself. An account is for one person — sharing a login with classmates is not permitted, and we may suspend an account we find is being shared.

You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us promptly at support@claryfied.com if you think someone else has got into it.

4. What Claryfied is — and what it isn't

Claryfied takes a question and draws an explanation of it on a board while narrating what it is drawing. Every lesson is generated by an AI model at the moment you ask. Nothing is pre-written by a teacher and nothing is reviewed by a person before you see it.

That means lessons can be wrong. They can contain a mis-stated formula, a diagram that misleads, or a step that is subtly out of order — and they can be wrong confidently and fluently, which is the hard part. Treat Claryfied as a very patient study partner and check anything that matters against your textbook or your teacher.

Claryfied is a study aid. It is not a school, it does not award credit or qualifications, it does not assess or grade you, and it does not decide anything about your education. It is not medical, legal, financial or safety advice, and it should not be relied on where a wrong answer could hurt someone — a lesson about a chemical reaction is an explanation, never a set of instructions to carry it out.

5. Plans, payment and renewal

Claryfied is sold as a subscription. The price, what it includes and the size of the monthly usage allowance are all shown on the pricing page before you pay, and that page is part of these Terms.

We offer Claryfied for sale only in the United States, Canada and Australia. Please don't subscribe from outside these countries — if you do, including by using a VPN or any other means to appear to be somewhere you are not, you do so on your own responsibility, we may cancel the subscription, and any refund is handled under our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Your subscription renews automatically every 30 days at the price shown when you subscribed, and the payment method you gave is charged on each renewal, until you cancel. Your usage allowance refreshes on that same day. Replaying a lesson you have already generated does not generate it again — the board is streamed back from what we saved, and that does not count against your allowance. Re-creating its spoken narration may occasionally use a small part of the allowance.

Dodo Payments is our merchant of record and sells the subscription to you as the seller, which means your receipt and any tax on the sale come from them. We never see or store your full card details.

Prices are set for each country we sell in and shown in that country's currency (US dollars, Canadian dollars or Australian dollars), so the amount payable depends on where you are; the price shown to you on the pricing page and at checkout for your location is the one that applies.

Whether a price includes tax is indicated on the pricing page and at checkout: Australian prices are shown inclusive of GST, while prices in the United States and Canada are shown exclusive of tax, with any applicable US sales tax or Canadian GST/HST/PST added at checkout by our merchant of record based on the location you enter. If we change the price of a plan, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.

6. Cancelling, and getting money back

You can cancel at any time from your profile page — there is no phone call, no retention flow and no form to fill in. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for, and your saved lessons stay in your library.

Refunds, and any cancellation rights you have as a consumer where you live, are covered in full in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

7. How you may use it

Use Claryfied to learn. Ask questions from your coursework, your textbook, your homework or your curiosity, at whatever level you're at — there is no wrong question here, and "I don't understand any of this" is a perfectly good one.

The points below are the ones we ask you to follow, so they are worth the minute it takes to read them.

• Don't put other people's information into it. Don't type someone else's personal details into a question, and don't upload a photograph containing other people — a classmate's face in the corner of a worksheet, a name and address on a letter, a class register. Photograph the problem, not the room. This is the rule we care most about, because a photo taken in a hurry catches more than the person taking it intends.
• Don't use it to cheat where you've been told not to. Using Claryfied to understand a problem you have been set is exactly what it is for. Using it during an exam, a proctored test, or any assessment where outside help is not allowed, is not — and neither is using it to produce work you must certify as your own where that certification would be false.
• Don't upload things you have no right to. A photograph of the problem you're stuck on is fair use of your textbook; systematically feeding in a book to reproduce it is not. Don't upload anything illegal, and don't upload anything you would not want a stranger to see — a human at one of our providers may see it if abuse monitoring flags it.
• Don't use it to cause harm. Claryfied will explain the chemistry of an explosive reaction, the biology of a disease and the physics of a nuclear weapon, because those are all on a syllabus somewhere and a student asking deserves an answer. What it will not do is give operational instructions for hurting people — synthesis routes, device construction, methods of self-harm, ways to attack a system. Equally: no harassment, no hate, no sexual content involving minors, nothing designed to demean another person. The audience here is children.
• Don't attack the service. No attempts to break out of the drawing sandbox, run code on our servers, reach data that isn't yours, or extract our system prompts. No scraping, no automated access, and no reselling Claryfied as a service of your own. If you find a security hole, tell us at support@claryfied.com before doing anything else and we will thank you properly.
• One account, one person. If you need Claryfied for a group, a class or a school, write to us and we will arrange it properly.

What happens if a rule is broken depends on what happened, and most cases are someone not thinking rather than someone acting badly. If we need to raise something with you, it usually starts with an email. We may suspend an account for repeated or deliberate breaches, and may close one immediately for a serious breach — anything involving harm to a child, an attack on the service, or fraud — and report it where the law requires. If we suspend your account we will tell you why, and you can reply to that email to contest it. Where we close an account for a breach, we do not refund the remaining period.

To report a misuse of Claryfied, or a lesson that taught something it should not have, write to support@claryfied.com and include the question that produced it — it is the fastest way for us to reproduce and fix it.

8. Your work, and ours

What you put in stays yours. Questions you type, photographs you upload and anything else you submit remain your content, and we claim no ownership of it. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store it, send it to the AI providers listed in our Privacy Policy so a lesson can be produced, and show it back to you. We do not sell, rent or license what you submit, and we do not build a dataset out of it — our Privacy Policy sets out how long we keep the text of a question and when it is erased.

The lessons Claryfied produces for you are yours to use — study from them, print them, put them in your notes, share them with a classmate or a student. We do not claim copyright over the boards generated for you. There is one limit: you may not resell the lessons, or repackage them into a product or service that competes with Claryfied.

The Share button makes this concrete. Sharing a lesson creates an unlisted link that anyone can open, without an account, and it is on all of it — the diagram, the narration, and the question you asked, which is the title. Only share a lesson whose question you are comfortable being read by anyone who gets the link, and do not share one that contains someone else’s personal information. Publishing lessons in bulk, or using shared links to offer Claryfied’s output as a service of your own, is the same repackaging the paragraph above prohibits; we may withdraw a link or an account that does it. You can stop sharing any lesson at any time, which disables its link permanently.

Claryfied itself — the drawing system, the software, the site, our name and logo — belongs to us, and these Terms do not give you any right to it beyond using the service. Some components of the drawing system are third-party works used under their own licences, which we honour and credit.

If you send us feedback or an idea, we may act on it freely and without owing you anything for it. We would still rather have the feedback.

9. Availability and changes

We will keep Claryfied running as well as a small team can, but we don't promise it will be available uninterrupted. It depends on services we don't control — AI providers, hosting, payment processors — and any of them can have a bad day.

We may add, change or remove features. If we remove something you are paying for and it materially reduces what you get, you can cancel so it does not renew. Cancelling stops the next charge but does not by itself refund the current period — the Refund & Cancellation Policy covers any exceptions.

We can suspend or close an account that is breaking these Terms, that is being used fraudulently, or where we are required to. Except where the breach is serious or we are legally obliged to act immediately, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right.

10. Ending it

You can delete your account from your profile at any time. Deletion is real: it removes your account, profile and saved lessons, as described in the Privacy Policy, and it cancels any subscription on the account so nothing further is charged. It cannot be undone. Because your access goes with the account, deleting partway through a paid period gives up the rest of that period, and deletion does not by itself refund it — see the Refund & Cancellation Policy for that.

The parts of these Terms that are meant to survive the end of the agreement — content licences already granted, disclaimers, liability limits and governing law — carry on afterwards.

11. Disclaimers

Except for the promises we make explicitly in these Terms, Claryfied is provided as it is. We do not warrant that lessons are accurate, complete, suitable for a particular syllabus or fit for a particular purpose, and we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Section 4 explains why in concrete terms — this is the legal statement of the same thing.

Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot legally be removed. If you are in Australia, Canada, the United States or anywhere else with mandatory consumer guarantees, you keep them in full, and where a clause in these Terms conflicts with them, they win.

12. Liability

Where we are liable to you, our total liability for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period and US$50.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profits or opportunity, or for the consequences of relying on a lesson without checking it — including exam results, grades or academic outcomes.

We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.

13. If something goes wrong between us

Write to support@claryfied.com first. Most things that end up in a legal process could have been sorted out in an email, and we would rather sort it out. We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Hyderabad, India have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and you may also bring proceedings in your local courts where the law gives you that right.

14. Changes to these Terms

We will update these Terms from time to time. If a change materially affects your rights, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you can cancel before then if you don't accept it. Smaller changes — clarifications, corrected typos, a new subprocessor's name — take effect when we publish them, and the date at the top of the page always tells you when they last changed.

15. The rest

• If a clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of these Terms still stand.
• Not enforcing something once doesn't mean we have given it up.
• You may not transfer your account or these Terms to someone else. We may transfer them to a company that takes over our business, and your rights come with you unchanged.
• These Terms, together with the pricing page, the Privacy Policy and the Refund & Cancellation Policy, are the whole agreement between us.
